Koksilah River Hike
After a bit of snow, Emily and I headed up to the Koksilah River Park to go for a hike on a beautiful blue winters day. I wanted to take some photos down by the river and enjoy getting out of the house after all the recent rains.
With the sun streaming thru the trees we crunched thru the 6″ deep snow. Crossing over the bridge near the parking lot and heading west along the river trail.
Finding a beautiful spot right on the river I set up my tripod for some long exposure shots. I also tried to find the sun poking thru the trees. Even tho it was very shady down near the river, the bright sun was backlighting the moss on the trees, giving the forest a sort of eerie glow.
The stillness of the forest in the snow amplifies the sounds of the river. Making for a blissful experience that you can only experience by getting out of the city and deep into the woods. The cold water splashing against this grass made tiny little ice bulbs, which then bounced together as the water flowed past.
You never know what you’ll see if you’re look.
My photography assistants stood patiently by, waiting for me to finish.
